ABOUT THE National Black Memorabilia, Fine Art & Craft Show
This is the 32nd year for this show in the Greater Washington, DC area. There will be many vendors, educational exhibits, seminars and celebrity autograph sessions. The intent of this show to provide an environment where the public can be educated on African American history and culture, and where they can purchase desirable pieces of black memorabilia. Items made by African Americans, made in the image of African Americans or about African Americans are considered black memorabilia whether these items are positive or negative. Many of the items considered as black memorabilia reflect the way African Americans were viewed and treated. Items from the slavery, Reconstruction, Jim Crow and Civil Rights eras to present tell a story of great progress of African Americans considering the obstacles they faced. There will be many vendors from across the United States with black memorabilia, fine art and crafts for sale including slavery artifacts, historical documents, books, stamps, civil war artifacts, paintings, prints, textiles, autographs, toys, advertisements, photos, political and civil rights memorabilia, kitchen collectibles, coins, posters, sports and entertainment memorabilia, magazines, postcards and much more. Attendees will be able to purchase original art and meet the artist. Educational exhibits will include slavery artifacts, Jim Crow memorabilia, the Buffalo Soldiers, Negro League Baseball, Marcus Garvey, Black Panther Party, Tuskegee Airmen, Malcolm X, George Washington Carver and others. The Black Panther Party exhibit will have a focus on the 50thanniversary of the founding of the Black Panther Party. There will be autograph sessions with Negro League Baseball Players, Tuskegee Airmen and other celebrities to be announced. This is the largest black memorabilia show in the country, and it attracts major vendors and collectors alike. The vendor booth fee is $300 and includes 2 tables and electricity. There will be plenty of good food and free parking.
